Ash Wednesday

Triple asceticism of Lent, which is triple the asceticism of the Christian life at any time, is almsgiving, prayer and fasting (Matthew 6:1-18). Note that the three vertices of the 'triangle' that a Christian is addressed in this practice, referred to other almsgiving, prayer refers to God, and refers to me in fasting. Note that we can adapt these practices with a triple structure of temptation identified in the Bible. The attractions of transgression are the desires of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the pride of life (1 Jn 2:16), which is good for food, pleasing to the eye and wisdom promises (Genesis 3: 6). These things are not in themselves our enemies, but things are most easily turn against us to continue to disproportionately.
What are the classic ascetic practices the antidote to the temptation? Fasting and other disciplines of self-sacrifice to help us manage the desires of the flesh in ways that are appropriate to our real needs and our commitments and relationships. Almsgiving and other practices of charity and justice-making will help us manage our relationships with others, our position in the world and our assessment of what is important in terms of possessions, reputation and achievements. Prayer and other acts of virtue of religion - worship, devotion and sacrifice - to maintain our relationship with God and help us to appreciate that it is in God we live and move and have our being (Acts 17:28).

Lent In practice, these practices with the hope that the benefits will take deeper root in our hearts and lives. It is important that you look at the three, because only then we are living in reality identified by Jesus in the great commandment: Love the Lord your God and your neighbor as yourself.

Laissez les bon temps Rouler

A quick wish for a safe and fun Fat Tuesday if you're leaving all the time before Lent or just let it all hang out.

Michael Woodmansee, Michael Woodmansee threatened by the victim's father

Who can forget the cannibal, Michael Woodmansee, who killed an innocent child 5 years old in 1982, not the father of the child.

The boy's father, John Woodmansee foreman threatened a local radio station.

"If this man is released anywhere in my neighborhood or if I can find after the fact, that they intend to kill this man,"said John Foreman from a radio station.
John Foreman, whose son was killed by Woodmansee 36 years, said this at a time when the offender is seeking parole for good behavior after serving 28 years behind bars.
Woodmansee was sentenced to 40 years behind bars after many years of freedom. He was caught only after he tried to lure another boy into his home and attacked him. The authorities soon discovered the remains of Jason, along with a detailed account of the murder of Jason who reportedly told the horrible story of the body of Jason Woodmansee consumption as a cannibal.

Woodmansee pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and was blocked for the first time in 40 years as part of an agreement that did not report the details of the murder.

Fat Tuesday.2011

Yeah, woo, chachacha, today is Fat Tuesday. Used aa a national holiday in Sweden, but now only in the North, but need not be there to have a holiday today, I can have a holiday any day I like yay. It seems that is known around the world as Shrove Tuesday, a religious holiday, and England are supposed to eat pancakes. In my house only eat pancakes on Thursdays though.

Today we will be eating semlor the incredible pastries that you see above with tons of fluffy cream, almond dough (a mixture of honey, sugar and almonds, there is no direct translation for mandelmassa, dictionaries tell me it's marzipan, but it is not marzipan, marzipan is mass, not the reverse) and a sweet bun hole around it. I love semlor. They know very well, and are like the air, you can eat tons.

Moreover, it is now an international day of women as well. I did not know that, but of course we will celebrate that as well here in CyberD. Why do I say that certainly, I mean, I mean me and my site? Anyway ...

I did a little reading on this honorable two days in Wikipedia and it seems the national holiday is not a day here in Sweden. I do not know, however, would be on the calendar if it really was. The traditions vary from one country and I will not bore you with the details (which bored me) so go to Wikipedia if you want them, here's the page.

Did you know that the international day for men is 19 November, right? Not that I'll be celebrating that, or held, but it is good to know. Happy day to you, the visitor woman! We hope you feel honored through this blog, which had placed a rose, but that's too corny for this place. Now, time to eat some semlor ...
